Dutch Salvage was one of my hero's when I was growing up. He brought so much joy to my life, along with my brothers and sisters as we watched him wrestle every Saturday night on Portland Wrestling. I never had the chance to meet him, but I am proud to know his grandson Joshua who is the Step brother of my daughters. His grandfather would be proud of the man he has become. Great job Josh..

This is a great tribute to the man who should be more recognized for his pivotal role in Oregon sports history. I was fortunate enough to grow up with Portland Wrestling at the time when Dutch was the undisputed hero of the sport. I was thrilled to watch him in the ring on Saturday nights with my own grandfather and though I was never fortunate enough to meet him, I consider him to be a key figure in my childhood memories. Every scar on his forehead was proof of his dedication to the sport and to his fans. While I may be late in finding this site, I truly appreciate what you have done here.

Growing up I was really good friends with Charlottes kid and I would stop by pretty much every morning so we could walk to school together. I was and still am a huge wrestling fan and she would tell me about Dutch and all these cool legends that were around at the time, as a young kid in what felt like little ol vancouver wa it was mind blowing that wrestling was that close to home! I will always remember that experience growing up and even now years later here i am in the middle of the night, researching dutch savage because of it!
